How these guides are made

Every guide is built from OpenStreetMap, the free map of the world maintained by volunteers. For each neighborhood we look at everything within about a 15-minute walk (1.2 km) of its center: named parks and their size, designated off-leash dog areas, named walking paths and trails, drinking fountains, and dog waste stations. Parks mapped as closed to dogs are left out.

We only publish a neighborhood when it has real options for a dog walk: at least three parks, plus an off-leash area, a mile of trails, plenty of green space, or lots of parks close together. These pages never use Pupnik members' walks or locations. Data as of September 18, 2026.
